2009 seems to end with a lot of Metropolis related news.

The premiere of the restored and complete Metropolis will be on February 12th at the Friedrichstadtpalast during the Berlinale 2010:

As rumoured earlier the new version will indeed appear on Blu-ray. It will be shown in theaters in spring 2010 and published on DVD and Blu-ray by the new label Kino Lorber Inc.:

The Berlin film museum will be holding a Metropolis exhibition featuring props, photos and even re-created costumes from the film from January 21st until April 25th 2010:
