Most of the full scale cars that are seen in Metropolis towards the end of the film are Rumpler Tropfenwagen.

Although the car was technically ahead of its time, it was a commercial failure. About 100 were produced and were used as taxis in Berlin. The Ufa bought several of the cars to use (and burn at the stake) in Metropolis.
